Julius Henry Marx born October 2, 1890 never intended to become an instantly recognised comedian and filmstar. His ambitions were to become a doctor until his family's finances took a downturn and Julius had to leave school to find work. After several unsuccessful attempts to succeed in lowly office positions, Julias became instead a vaudeville singer in 1905.
